having just had a lovely wtl with our cluster manager over park and loop we were told that deliveries are going to be extended to 4 and a quarter hours we enquired what would happen if say 5 postman went sick how would the other rounds be covered? he said that the rounds would be lapsed with our duties. and when asked the about the enviromental impact of all these new vans on the road instead of bikes we where told royal mail wasn't bothered about the enviroment just about profit! i have to say how greenpeace haven't got hold of this crazy idea i will never know! any other posties out there who feels this new style of delivery is going to be ridicoulas and not work? and ther opion on the union being up for it?

Not a hope in hell would I do that. Surely the CWU are,nt going to recommend this? :mfo

if they have already agreed this,
then I only hope that ACAS or someone like them are going to retest all the runs
as we know the runs are all above the three and a half delivery spans that they are supposed to be
I hope they will get this done before any changes are to be made

What is the CWU at, a little communication or info would help.

we were also told this but it has now changed . because the van duties we already have will go so the posties pick up ALL the parcels for the two walks regardless of size

As said before my office is doing 4 and a half hours park and loop.It doesn't work,i would say nearly all the office claim evey day(unless dim tries to stroke the ot out).
It was brought in and it allowed max of 2people off sick at once,couple of weeks ago there were 5 or 6 off,our 4 yes 4 managerswere all out until half 4.
It brought a smile to us all..We have cwu members and non members sticking each other in for stupid things like one wants a break now but the other wants finished.Every 1 is depressed in a bad way at our office. Union rep was susp at the time,and the 2 people that worked with the deal have left with evr!!!At least they are okay eh??/

we have it was suppose to be 3.5 hrs but takes 4.5 hrs minimum they got rid of every third man and so we do the extra between us including parcels and specials since they got rid of the parcel man and bag dropper,its crap,we have marathon runners who are too knackered to train.of course we have plenty of cutoffs and the extra managers take it out.its funny how we use to have 2 full time cleaners now only a partimer and all the postmen gone.we use to have 1 manager now we have 4 and sometimes more standing around trying to pennypinch and try to get extra minutes out of you while they eat there pies and fish and chips in the office.
