Re: Transfers
You have to put in a request through your DOM and state the office you want to go to then its just a case of waiting for a vacancy .
Dont hold your breath on it being a F/T vacancy
Why should it concern your DOM if you want away but unfortunately you have to go through him any hows so hes going to no.

Re: Transfers
I transferred recently and it wasn't easy, first of all you have to havw been at the office you are now at for at least a year before you transfer, after you transfer you cannot transfer agai9n for at least 12 months. The way to do it is to ask to meet the DOM of the unit you want to go to and ask him if they have any vacancies and will they take you and on what basis. If he agrees you then go to your own DOM, tell him you wish to transfer and that there is a place for you. The DOMs then email each other and bobs your uncle.

I have been in GiroLand for 5 years now - Treat them as you treat anyone else and they are a general good bunch. Take em as you find em I sayel_cartero wrote:ok thanks i work in a edge of town scheme.. boring and horrible.

Re: Transfers
Go to one of the offices you fancy working at and go and see the manager, would be much quicker than going down official channels.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
