Crozier and Leighton ring Dave Ward after today's meeting asking for a new meeting tonight urgently!!
The first meeting this afternoon did not go well at all and there was much anger shown by both sides.
I also believe Billy is involved as well which does worry me slightly.
Make of this what you will this is the first time Leighton has got involved and i believe he maybe riding in on his white charger to get a deal and say to everyone "look what i did"!! "I sorted it"!!
If i hear anymore i will post it.

Ive just heard meeting just finished strike is STILL ON

they were not meeting until later tonight and they are planning for talks to last through the night so is it the first meeting or the second meeting thats finished?

But the question is why is Leighton getting involved for the first time?

POSTAL STRIKE GOES AHEAD

Strike action will go ahead on Thursday 12th July commencing at 7pm for 24 hours after the Communication Workers Union representatives met with Royal Mail today in an attempt to begin fresh talks.

Disappointingly, Royal Mail simply concentrated on reiterating their previous offer that the workforce has already overwhelmingly

Dear Colleague,

The CWU has tonight met with Allan Leighton,
Chairman Royal Mail Group & Adam Crozier, Royal Mail Chief Executive. At
the meeting we re-stated our offer for Royal Mail to engage with the
Union in meaningful negotiations, which would see the next strike
action, called off.

Royal Mail has once again flatly refused to take up the Unions offer to
negotiate and continue to reinstate their previous position. Therefore,
the planned strike action for 7pm 12th July, until 7pm 13th July, will
go ahead.
