In trouble. Need advice.

Ok firstly, what colour bags did the tso girl put the specials into ?? should have been either green sacks or blue sealable pouches. If she used grey bags that is incorrect. how many bags were tied with the big light blue plastic ties?? and were the bags labelled correctly ? If she wrote 3 x sealed bags on the bill sheet then there should have been 3 green bags with blue ties and proper labels. (or sealed pouches).

Doubt if you would lose your job as nothing got lost, and when the bags turned up at the MC they should have gone on their way thereby no delay of mail.

Get to see your union rep asap and get him in on the interview , most important.

Once I know the answers to those questions it will be easier to suss the situation.

Really you should have taken all the green bags to the phg, Im wondering how long you have been on the post ? but like I said before, if the specials were all there and they got out on the evening despatch then I cant see how they can pick you up for anything more than not checking the bags against the tso bill. If the spls got to their destinations on time then there was no harm done, that would be my argument if I was a union rep.

I wouldnt worry about it in that case, just make that known to you dom. I cant see any case to answer as it is your managers responsibility to ensure the right bags are used for the right purpose., so if he isnt doing the job correctly how can he accuse you of the same?? I hope your CWU rep blows him out of the water

Just a final thought, if your line manager wants to go down the conduct route, there should be a fact finding interview first of all, so you have an opportunity to put forward your part of the story and the manager puts his forth as well. This should be in the company of your union rep. Only then if your manager deems you have a case to answer (unlikely!) only then can he "pass it up" to his DOM or whatever. If this is not followed you will be quite entitled to take out a grievance against your line manager for incorrect use and pursuit of the conduct code.

Nah don't worry about it I've sent specials of to the mail centre before today by mistake. These things happen!

think ? the green bags with the blue tags and blue pouches have to go to the locker in the APC ASAP - think ? the driver has to take the green bags personally - The locker staff will be under pressure to get them out for final despatch . If any APC tipping or segueing or sorting staff find a parcel with a silver label that's gone in a grey or red bag by mistake it should go to the locker ASAP .
