For all you posties who can't read (and I've met a few!), here's Roy Mayall's new book "Dear Granny Smith" on Radio 4's Book of the Week. I just caught the tail end of today's episode this morning, so staright away came home and listened to all of them!

Finished the first 3 downloads. It really took me back to when i started back in 1988 i had forgot what it was like back then and how much I miss the old days when we had the time to really care for our customers. It made me quite sentimental really it’s a shame how much things have changed and how hard we get pushed now.

I have just finished listening to all 5 parts on the iPlayer, and I'm glad I waited for the dead of night - really made it feel like an indulgence, with me unconciously nodding my head, at someone else describing the job to a tee, smiling at the characters, and feeling my throat tighten, especially at Jerry's despair......the whole series was absolutely fantastic!

Hooper didn't like it all - RM declined to send someone , we were hoping for Tolly the Tool to make an arse of himself again .
