Delivering to Flats, How Much Stairs do I have to Climb

Hi Everyone, a Block of apartments on my walk has just notified us at our delivery office, that from Monday they are going to cut holes in the 140 apartments doors for the mail, the apartments have been up for four months, I handed the mail to the site office at first, then my line managers said enough was enough, they have had the chance to get boxes after three months, now kill the mail off.
I never liked the idea of killing the mail off, with Christmas here, I have returned cards, Amazon, play .com etc, not fair on the residents as such, the Woman in the builders office Today went out with the one of the line mangers and told him, they are cutting holes on Monday in the Five Storey apartments, there is no numbers on the doors either, the site office woman said she would show me around the first day, so I can deliver next week, the problem is there is NO lifts working in the block, the block has four entrances, and they are all 5 storey high, I approached my office line manager, and said this is going to put at least another 40 minutes on my walk, he said “ you can always come off the walk” I then said to him, is there not a rule of how many flight of stairs you have to climb, he told me “I have just rang health and safety, they said there was no limit of flights of stairs, just keep your bag light, that means I would have to go up and down the same flight twice, then back to my bag drop for more, this is time consuming again.
Bearing in mind, the other block nearby has all the boxes down stairs, and its been up for four years and still has no lifts, the company build, go bust and don’t finish the blocks, then start under new names.

Anyone know what’s my rights on this, the shop steward is scratching his head…

I'm near enough certain it's 4 flights of stairs with a 5kg bag,that you can walk up and no more.
As for all the other s**t,your DOM is an arse and we wouldn't at my place deliver there,especially if there are no door numbers.

That is 28 x2.
If say you had a block with 10 flights then you would only go up 4 of them if the lift is broke,you from what you say seem to be different,and we also have those types down my way.

Had 35 blocks of low rise flats on my last walk, all 3 or 4 stories high and these made up less than half my walk. Apparently that was acceptable then and they have since added more to it I changed walks about 2 years ago and my knees are still giving me problems, good luck you have my sympathy

Few weeks ago was on an unofficial walk ( made up of loadsa drivers bits ) which was like 70 odd flats of 3-4 flights ( well two flights to get to next landing ) was murder.
