Your Area Rep or your Branch Secretary will be able to help you out, you have 3 calendar months to lodge your appeal, and this can be pulled at any time, should you win your appeal.

The form that you require is a ET1 form and this can be downloaded from the internet or your nearest citizens advice should have them in stock, best of luck.

Ask at a Dole Office or Job Centre - they'll give you a form - there will be instructions as to where to send it to

You don`t have to download the form off the internet,you can just fill the ET1 online and press send and hey presto it goes to your nearest employment tribunal office.
You can even if you want to, do abit at a time and save it to your computer then send it when your confident that you`ve filled it in correctly.

I am finding it very hard to get a list of Employment tribunal results on the internet.
There doesn't seem to be a database that I can find.
Although I have found a good book but it won't be available til after christmas and it costs money.

I'm not sure if I'm right in saying and will haveto do a bit more research but I think the average offer from a tribunal is £15000.
So for a long serving postman they still save money as far as redundancy etc goes. It is easier for RM to go the sacking route and pay £15000 if they want to get rid of someone and the going rate is a max of £15000 unless it's for racial or sexual harassment or any other form of disrimination like disability.
They can cobble together any old bullsh1t and get away with a £15000 bill, no more pension, no more uniform or overtime, holiday and sick pay. It's the name of the game these days.

From what I have looked at the median awards of 2008 ..............means average I think, .......the awards for unfair dismissal if upheld runs at about £8500 approx.


Just remember if you lose you get nothing.

Just remember if you lose you get nothing.

So that's £8500 and you don't get your job back, still a cheap way of getting rid of someone.
