surcharges on mail
was approached the other morning by an irate customer who complained about having to pay a surcharge on an unstamped item of mail. She continued to explain that her friend was on a cruise and had sent the item without a stamp because she probably didnt have time to get a stamp from anywhere. WHAT! you couldnt make it up could you!

TBH though a quid handling fee seems a little harsh for me for something that's potentially millimetres too big. Also how can they justify bumping it up from 50p to a quid in one go!

There needs to be a clearly marked notice on xmas cards when you buy them saying that if you post them they are LARGE letter rate. Its one of the most stupid invented ideas to increase revenue ever undertaken by RM.

Thats not very clear really. Something like "this card is a large letter postal rate" would be better

its not as bad as the Royal mail fee for custom charges! it was £4 then went up to £8 over night almost!

had four identical packets the other day with a £45 customs charge on each! Not surprised actually after looking at the customs declaration its stated "cigarettes"
