increase in basic pay

Im on a 30 hour contract but always do at least 40 hours,and my basic pay is £254 19p, the last 2 weeks my basic pay has gone up to £341 10p without anyone saying anything to me. My contract hasn't changed. I was puzzled by this but have worked out (I think) that instead of paying me my first 10 hours overtime they are showing it as basic pay. I assume this is so the overtime figures don't look so bad. Anyone got any thoughts on this, am I losing out in anyway or maybe better off. What a mess they are in when they have to juggle the figures so it doesn't look so bad.

I have been given door to door money instead of Overtime before, I stamped on that one straight away. I would check and ask for an explanation if I was you. At the very worse they might have forgotten to pay you overtime and have made an error with your basic pay which they would claw back.

Either way query it. It's not on.

have they not made you up to 40hrs over the xmas pressure period?

Last week I did 11 hours overtime my payslip shows 1 hour @ £8 69, I have just realised I have also been paid £100 Christmas Bonus, shouldn't I be paid pro rata being on a 30 hour contract? ie £75.

Whichever way, the amounts you are being paid are incorrect. The hourly rate of pay is £8.69p per hour so on 30 hour contract you should be paid £260.70 and on 40 hour contract you should be paid £347.60. Seems to me that they may have been underpaying you on 30 hour contract and have suddenly realised the fault and have paid you the backpay this week.

correct you should be paid pro-rata but somtimes they do mess up so best to keep quite! happend to a few part timers in out office last year!

Sorry, I should have explained that I get £6 51 reduced from basic pay for Cycle to work scheme

It looks like you have been made up to full time for the Christmas period, which would explain why your basic pay has gone up, and you were only paid one hour overtime when you have worked eleven hours more than usual.

It would also explain why you were paid the full £100 Christmas bonus, as the amount you get depends on the hours you work over the 4 weeks to Christmas - ie, as you are full time for those 4 weeks you get the full time rate.

If you have been made up to full time, and your manager has not explained why, can you then assume that you are on a permanent full time contract. Does anybody have any thoughts on this as surely they are setting a precedent.

Is the bonus pro-rata for contracted hours only or does it include overtime?
I'm on a 25 hour contract but I'm easily doing 35-40 over Christmas.

speak to your rep. xmas arrangements may have increased all pt to ft over xmas period.
