Light bulbs

This is the most busiest time of the year for us postman so why are we having to deliver light bulbs our delivery office is overloaded with them. We are struggling enough with the increase of normal packages and you just can't get many of these in your poach. Don't tnt deliver anything of there own they know a good thing when they see it we just wouldn't be able to do them without using our own cars this can't be right surely

Its because RM management just see £££ signs even though we lose money on DSA
When all this was 'competition' was opened up I thought it was just for letters, did'nt think we would be delivering all the bloody packets for the leeches aswell

It is a real pain in the arse for all of us. Royal Mail need to reject it. I heard those light bulbs are dangerous if they break. We shouldn't be delivering them on health and safety reason.

Don't forget, not only do we deliver TNT's mail and packets we also deliver their D2D contract stuff from time to time as well! ...

I had a city link "tracked" packet on Saturday but it wouldnt scan into our pda, just came up with unrecognised barcode, so presumably city link charged their customer extra for it to be tracked, but then gave it to us to deliver as a "normal" item and pocketed the extra money. This DSA is what will eventually kill us off, not sure whether its RM's fault or just the system thats stacked against us. As for the lightbulbs, just cant understand it, and for once our DOM is in agreement with us !

I've managed to clear most of my lightbulbs but have one street left to do the biggest. Told lino will take one a day in them bags and if they want them out quicker to put them on the van. Was told that wouldn't happen so 1 in each bag it is so that will be sone by Jan 14th ish.

Oh and btw don't know about anyone else but we have two types one lots mailsort the other is DSA.

Have to laugh. Our office got the lightbulbs this week. The busiest week of the year. FFS.

loads of bulbs in our office stacked high to the roof many many of them 739'd.

the guy at the desk feeling the pressure trying to find the correct one's according to the customer bringing in the 739 card.

very long que running all the way round the car park. peeps freezing in sub-zero temp just for the sake of the lightbulbs.

I'm an AG so when covering walks I play fair and take my share (say 50%) but we were told we 'could use common sense' and door stop them wherever possible. Being the pain in the a**e that I am, I do a P739 wherever possible and cut off at the end of the day. When asked why I cut off I tip out my D/L bag full of f*cking light bulbs. Snicker! Funny enough don't get asked again..........

TBH I couldn't give a monkeys anyway if it doesn't say to leave them, i've doorstepped every box of bulbs i've ever had. No customer wants to travel miles to pick up 4 bulbs that you can now get for 10p each.

Bleeding things. Last monday i had a packet bag full of them, 22 NPower light bulbs. I managed to clear them throughout the week (how i don't know with all the Xmas packets) and What do i find again come saturday? Another bloody packet bag full of them! Cant win!

The new Christmas ones do say what you suggest however, you forgot the two words that are on all the ones I see "Safe Place" and the doorstep is not safe at least in my mind.

Nice thing to do. However, I would only ever do it if I have their permission otherwise how would we know they have not gone away for Christmas and we are kindly advertising the fact to any passing low life burglar.
