There has been some discussion about us moving to a shorter working week and how it might happen.The idea of losing our payment for meal-relief doesn't seem very popular. But how about this for an idea:
We work 35 hrs/week as posties and for 1hr/day we cycle to generate electricty for our unit (like on Bang Goes The Theory).
This option has several benefits:
We keep all the bikes (and mechanics) so loved by people up and down the country.
RM enhances its "green"reputation and decreases its carbon footprint.
Financial savings from smaller electricity bills, and we should all share in that.
Fitter and healthier posties so less sick leave.Perhaps we could have extra cycling instead of lapsing.
Looks like a win win win win situation.

How about instead of lapsing they also send us down the coal shafts with a torch and pick and we go back to having coal fired heating systems aswell.

I was at the museum this afternoon and in the foyer was a bloke with a bike attached to a dynamo attached to a juicer and you were invited to cycle your own smoothie.This is an idea whose time has come.

Perhaps, if we got all the bikes wired up to just one generator then we could produce sufficient electricity to electrocute Crozier and Mandelson in one go!
