Managers Doing Posties work

A few months ago we had Managers doing posties work IE mis-sorts,ips that hadnt been finished ,packets and walk prepping.

The union had a word with these managers and got it stopped immediately. Sadly it has started all over again.

The rep brought this up on the shop floor with the DSM who seen his arse and dragged the rep into his office as he beleived the rep was being un-proffessional by arguing the toss in front of everyone.

The DSM informed the rep that managers were doing all of the above due to the posties not meeting performance standards and this was the only reason. The rep did say to the DSM that this was a load of clap trap and was not acceptable to him or the lads in the office,and that this practise had to stop.

Have any of you lads experienced the same on-goings in your office and how did your rep clamp down on this practise . If this carries on i can see our rep getting himself into trouble as he will keep arguing the toss with the managers and the DSM.

Managers usually are the only ones on IPS at the moment

but then they have FA else to do.

Our manager has done absorbtion, prepping walks, specials, conveyance, all probably within the last fortnight.

I dont think the union rep has done anything about it.

obviously citizen performance targets are against blue shirt figuers and not of those managerment do, therefore the figuers for your unit are fraudulant and the union should bring this up with area and divisional reps while we are in the calming peroid.

Managers doing IPS, Throwing walks off etc, all in a days work at our office. Its normal protocoyl as the managers have absorbed (modernised ) so much work they are now doing it all themselves. The only thing the managers are not doing is managing? As for our union rep he is outnumbered and bullyied by about 4-5 managers on a daily basis its not really a fair fight guys.

don't let your rep feel he/she is fighting your unit on there own get them to involve area or divisional reps, the strikes were not for nothing citizen

same in our office,altho it goes on when our mouthpiece of a union rep is away,only for me being on rehab i caught them at it,xmas pressure was the answer,aye yo ho

Not one day go bye when this don't happen in our office. Cwu do jack sh*t about it.
You can not blame the mangers all they think about is there bonus.

seems there are offices out there with no back bone. These unfortunatly and it saddens me to say are the followers brothers and not the leaders

We stopped it straight away,we told the dom, if his managers have time to do posties work, then they obviously have a lack of managerial work
to keep them occupied, and we were sure his superiors would be very interested to know about it.
Simple really, they will do anything to save their own skins.

Manager sorting in walks while talking to the cluster manager this is so the postie who should be doing it can get out early so he won't cut off.

iv'e seen managers sorting missorts in our office and its just as well they have'nt been timed or they would be out of a job.

Aye--and be warned about the number of missorts they prep up--my pet hate is when they do half a frame----
then pull you from what you are doing,, and you get the blame for their mistakes!
