Just a bit of advice please

In June I was involved in a RTA , a car reversed into me while standing by my RM bike,

I have to go and see the medical people in regards to Industrial injury as wether it counts for a disability.

This is next week at 11am, I went into to see the DOm showed him the letter with the appointment on, left it at that thinking they would pay me for the day off as it is work related, an hour later my dom gives me an updated holiday form and consequently booked me a days holiday out of my own days owing to me,

Now I think this should be special leave A?

Can anyone advise me please

Totally out of order. Unless you specifically asked for a days holiday, he has noright to throw that one at you. If I were you I would be polite and go back and say that this is not a holiday, it was an accident during working time. If he does not accept that then take out a grievance against him. These bstrds are getting too big for their boots.

possible unfair detriment for H&S issues , a Tribunal would take a dim view of it . The DIM DUM is looking out for No 1 and covering his own arse hoping you won't push it .

my dim dom was not in today so I am waiting for an answer,

If I don't here by t/morrow I will try and contact area rep as we do not have rep in our office.

I would not mind but I have had since june various physio done on my back each week all in my own time,
you would think you are asking for the earth.

I had one of those DWP medicals the other week, I went into work and done half my duty then went off to the medical, my pay was'nt docked.

Why are you not on the sick or of work if you have not worked for royalmail for along time you will not get sick pay but how are you working with an injury are you on light duties and if so why can he not let you go in work time if so!.

Thanks for the replys the dim dom has said I can go into work and throw off my walk and go after that and be paid, though I will lose the O/T, but can get that back eventually whhen the case is bought against the insurence company.

Hi I was off work for about 10 weeks, then came back on light duties for about 5 weeks building up to a full walking duty
in between my back injury Compressed discs and bulge , but it has now caused me to have pains down the leg so having treatment for that, knowing how RM work in the case off having too much time off sick, I just don't want the fight all the time, I have been there and got the t/shirt over many yrs of being on RM, but i do support the union and love this board

Just glad my dim dom saw a bit of sense in the end as I would have taken it further and made sure all my physio appointments would be in work time in the future lol

Sorry for any offence but WHY did ROYALMAIL force you back before your condition has had time too repair!. Rehabilitation is not the be all and end all time is the greatest healer after all one should challange ROYALMAILS RUSH to get you back on any duties even light ones as they phrase it!.
