Picking of annual Leave for 2010

We are in the proces of picking our Annual leave for next year,

Last year we had 9 people away each week this included both F/T and P/T

since this past year we have had about 5 people either retire or sacked, our office has now 59 staff
We are also some of us about half the office on Waddingtons which is work 6 days for 5 weeks then have a week off.

I am quite high on the picking of annual leave and have found that I am only been able to get one of my dates and having talked to others they seem to be in the same boat, Our Dim has said we can only have 6 away each week and summer months have not been increased, also they are taking into consideration if we are on our shift week off they include this in the amount of persons away, can they do this

Oh..., i thought i could pick my annual leave for 2010 in 2011?

our annual leave(summer holiday)is done on rotational blocks from end of april til october .if youre leave is in april one year then next year you jump forward 2 blocks into june.next again year of in august,because there are an oddnumberof blocks every third year you jump one block.this was brought in because everybody wanted july-august school holidays.when the holiday sheets are put on wall it leads to a bit wheelin and dealing with people swapping their holidays .the old system invovled one postman given a few days off his duty as asked every one when they wanted off then allocated holidays based on seniororty.

In our office we have been put into 4 groups regardless of your seniority.

Each group is then given 1 week to chose there leave before prcedding onto the next group.

When it comes to the summer leave we get 12 off its usually 10 but seen as we lapse two duties this rises by extra two.

How many walks do you lapse over the summer period.
