winter warmers?

got the usual, cap, trousers, fleece, t-shirt & rain coat.

now its that time of the year when the temp plummet.

do RM issue warm clothing ie.woolly hat, long johns etc?

Theres fingerless gloves if your lucky,not to sure if they still issue a winter baseball cap.

just the bog standard cap i think,wtf happened to the beanies we were to get at the start of the year,i'm ex Army & i can truly say with hand on heart the RM clothing is shite,for an outdoor job it is pitiful,am not holding my breath for the gortex lightweight jackets & combat type trousers either

Even if they did it would be crap, you're better off going to the shop and buying yourself some decent gloves, a decent hat, a scarf and some good thermals. In winter time I tend to layer up like an onion which is fine until I have to answer the phone and I can't get to it (then my wife thinks I ignoring her.............which is a result).

the fleece jacket is utter shite .... the coldest jacket that has been issued yet the zip keeps breaking ... worst thing they did was change from the thermal jacket to the harrington jacket .... the thermal jacket should be brought back and made by the same company that made them in the 80s/90s

The slightly older fleece jacket is great, all I wear all winter is a polo shirt and the fleece on top (plus fingerless gloves if it's really cold). The newer ones are much thinner though (plus the pockets are stupidly shallow) and only any good for keeping as a spare.

I don't really feel the cold that much though, this week is the first time i've worn any coat since last winter.

I wear 2 coats, the fleece and a hooded cotton jacket under that. On Monday when it rained I added a raincoat to that, as well as my long sleeved work shirt and a t-shirt under that.

But then Im in on Tyneside and not darn sarf where its still barbecue weather,
