Receiving stage 1 attendance

no they shouldnt be used agaisnt you for a stage 2 untill the 1st stage has been issued, i have done this before. I had a stage interview coming up so took another few days off sick and it was never used agaisnt me. Just make sure they dont try to stitch you up and when you do finally get your stage 1 make sure the date is not changed to before you go sick again, make sure the date is for after u return. Also dont stay off sick for too long because some managers issue it while you are off in extreme cases.

The danger with doing that is what happened to a bloke in my office. He went off just before the Stage 1 interview, and the manager issued it solely because the bloke was clearly taking the p!ss. The manager concerned has worked at my office for years and told me he was minded not to issue it before the twit tried to have 'a freebie'

Going sick when you're not ill is what gets the genuine people sacked, because RM just start issuing Stages every time and not taking genuine conditions into account

My case a bit different. Had months off with dog attacks, Simp/Milar cases pending. I have 2 DWP/DSS letters stating "Industrial Accident" too...
Came back on light duties,and was initially told "no Stage for AOD" by two managers and other sources.

Then, get letter "inviting" me to attend "poss" Stage meeting, from same Manager who stated "no AOD" originally!? Problem is, I'm on late's, they wanted meeting early morning, meaning come in for meeting, go home then come back later for work! ( Logical, I don't think so Capt.Kirk...) Think they knew Reps would be out delivering. So, I said unable to attend, as no Reps available to me. DIM not happy at all LOL!

Looks as though I'm being made out to be the Bad Guy, as is the usual tactic.
I'm there 30hrs per week, why can't meeting be arranged for *when I'm ACTUALLY THERE?!
( AHHH, Now I see it. This would make sense..)

The trouble is Thunder, stages are triggered from head office and come through to the managers, they shouldnt issue a stage for a dog attack on delivery, if they did however and further sickness lead to you dismissal you would win an appeal 100%, someone at my office had this scenario and the appealing manager said it was agaisnt royal mail policy to issue a stage for a dog bite.

Funny thing was, got in work, answered PHG phone, one of our guys at the other end saying, "Just been bitten by a dog!"
I sometimes cover this round and the dog is Mad, but normally kept in or owner "tries" to control it. Big arsed Airedale thingy...
As well A+E/Erica advice he received, I told him to contact DSS to get it recorded as "Industrial Injury" for future assurance.
