Executive Action backlog?

Just wondering,any you guys got any backlogs going on.Be it through EA or whatever?

Below is SE14 in London,they have over 50 yorks,they lost their 4 day week late sept.
At my place,we've got a weeks worth of packets.And daily cut offs.
Executive Action works eh.

My D.O is struggling a bit with oversized/van duty packets at the moment as the amount coming through is UPbig time.

However extra resource is being put in place through reserves starting at 9am and then using a van once some of the rurals are back.

We have less people on leave at this time of year dwindling week by week untill two weeks before xmas nobody on leave, this then gives spare bodies.

Callers office very busy as well, as managers have made it clear on pain of conduct code that there is to be no more doorstepping without customers written permission.

The complaints from customers about doorstepping got to the point where a complaint was made to the chairmans office.

What time do your rurals get back?
Ours don't get back untill 3

one major problem at 6 am it is still pitch black and the picture was taken in broad daylight

We had executive action as well but since then, we ve been using lots and lots of casuals to get rid of all the backlogs,on some days about 30 of them and still at present about 5 to 10 coming in everyday. On few occasions we had some managers coming from up north to do deliveries... most of them were astonished for the amount of work we would carry, they were struggling on some walks even if 3 of them to do a single walk

Some of our rural drivers are only leaving at 10.30, none leave before 10.10, none will be back before 2 - only bulk drivers would finish before 2 and they start at 6 - I understood a five day week was standard on SDD not optional, still there does seem to be discrepancies depending on where you are.

We've been told that we will be getting a spare van this week till Christmas coz off the volume of parcels. This van can be used on overtime when the bike rounds get back plus anyone can work their day off from this week. Its like Christmas pressure has started early. Another f**k up off RM to compensate their stream lining of staff and the messed up rounds.

Apolgies for not being clearer

I was refering to pre SDD and Present day. The 5 day week as we know brought with it longer days. To fill out that extra time some of the rurals were simply given IPS with no change to the delivery element of the duty. Every duty is a five day week at my D.O
