newspaper bias

Post by jafferpants »

Hows this for biased reporting. The daily mirror as far as i know was the only newspaper to mention the £40million bonus total paid to managers. Lets hear it for the mirror :Applause :Applause

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If we think about things an decide that calling the strike has been a big mistake and all were heading for is loss of pay and a big defeat than it is sensible to think about going back to work. There are a lot of good comments on this site but there are also a lot of headbangers and nutters who just seem to lead everyone into a big fight for the sake of it without any idea whether things will be better or worse afterwards. Fighting talk is very easy but this is about our future jobs and our future pay and some people seem to have forgotten this. A strike only makes sense if theres a good chance that we can win something and that thing is worth enough to compensate for all the pain and lost earnings.

I think if we dont stand up and fight this RM wage cut.... Then You wont have a union to argue any rights in the future.... Remember how many came out on strike and how many voted for a strike... Yes we all had a vote you know... Now Back the majority or dont be in the union at all as you or anybody who wants to work under conditions That will take us back to the dark ages and it will be like forced labour... If you have to do others work if they are off sick.. And all the other strings attatched will MAKE THIS JOB A HELL OF A LOT WORSE.. NOT BETTER THATS A FACT...... I DONT NEED A CRYSTAL BALL TO SEE THAT..... My fighting talk is always backed up... And over 90% are the same on the last strike.... So its all down to your consience and morals...

If you want a job that has lost all its rights then go ahead and leave the union and let the real workers who demand rights to fight the good fight!!!

There is no other way.. You scab,, You leave the union. And when we win.... Any pay rises and rights WE THE UNION GET AND PRESERVE.. You can not take them and give them back as you and your Morals never fought and won them... I think this is only fair .... ISNT IT POSTMANGNU????????????????

OUT

NEVER LET THE BASTARDS GRIND US DOWN!!!!! :no no :Applause :no no :Applause :no no :Applause :no no :Applause :no no :Applause :no no

I have read some of the details of this business plan, and I have worked for firms where there is no trade union - I have a pretty good idea of what this job will be like if we do support the union that we have. Don't get me wrong here - I do not think that one day strikes go far enough - but I will continue to back the union 100% for as long as it takes. postmangnu - perhaps you could tell me about your experiences as a working man, which lead you to believe that doing nothing while the management unilaterally cut your pay and degrade your working conditions is the best way to secure your future.

Well I am glad Churchill was in charge in 1940 otherwise we would be speaking German now. The Nazis had taken over the Western part of Europe, our army had left most of its equipment on the beaches, at that time the odds for us winning the war were long. However, because Churchill and the Nation thought that our cause was just and so we carried on. All a bit jingoistic for some but that's how I feel about our current difficulties.

Anyway if we roll over and let them have everything they want I will be about as better off then as I am now, loosing a days pay for standing up for something I think is right.

postmangnu, what the hell are you on about, it is about future jobs and future pay, neither of which you will have if we lose this dispute, i suppose you would consider me to be one of those nutters your on about, i consider myself to be militant and im proud to say that if being militant is wanting to stand up for yours and others rights and not get backshafted by those two overpaid arrogant b***ards, then yes i am, people have stood up and lost their homes livelyhoods and even their lives to give you rights in your working life, and you think thats ok, to give that away, i dont know why i waste my breath, f***ing unbelievable...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

Nicely put! I'm a militant as well. I think the working class should get everything we produce. We should get good, affordable housing, the best education possible for our children, the best medical care when we fall ill, the best possible pensions when we retire, we should be able to afford travel, culture, sports, the best food ad drink available and international peace and solidarity with our brothers and sisters in all countries regardless of race, religion, sex or sexual preference. Why should the rich parasites who are too lazy to work con us out of these things? Why should servile, cringing, fawning, brown nosed, scabby class traitors side with our enemies and expect us to listen to them? Lord Haw-Haw's of the 21st Century, puppets for the ruling class, go away and die quietly.
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

Gutless , completely gutless , I really can't understand people like you, postmangnu. What sort of guarantee that we'd win
this dispute would you require before you developed a spine like the overwhelming majority of your colleagues from
John o' groats to Lands end ?
You , my friend , are very much mistaken if you believe that the majority of your colleagues , nationwide , doing their level best,
with the only weapon availiable to them, to defend our jobs , improve our pay , and protect our pensions, are nutters and
headbangers.

For nutters and headbangers , look a little closer to home. :d'oh!
