HOW MANY TO A BOX!!

We hear from the post office in the drop in mail ,they say an average box holds about 232 letters .I and my mate have been randomly counting letters per full box and it ranges from 330 -420 ,so can i suggest that you count a box every so often lets get an average and it will show HOW THE POST OFFICE GET THERE FIGURES !!! :lfo

You actually counted how many letters were in one of those boxes? I have been tempted to do that myself a couple of times, as I know the figures are made up.

Our office has done two random checks on traffic figures in the last two months, both verified by the Dom . One day quiet,the other mega.
Hey presto ,turns out our MC figures for traffic through our office on both days was less than accurate. Curiously the % underestimate was as near as makes no odds on both occasions.
Anybody want to guess the % discrepancy?

I counted a random box of sequenced mail for my walk. There was 307 items in it. Not a very scientific test I admit, but well in excess of RMs figures.

At some stage RM have got to come clean with their figures. Not only for this but with the data they input into the pegasus computer program. They cannot continue to massage the figures and expect the job to be done

You dont even have to count the mail,when u look at all the mail on your bench then the do comes round and says mails light THATS WHEN YOU KNOW MAIL IS HEAVY ,BUT yes i count random boxes and it has NEVER fell below 300and i keep a record .Do your offices have billboards which are SUPPOSED to tell you the volume of mail you get every day ?.We found out they cant give a true figure of exact mail until 10.30 am at that time we are all out on delivery ,so how can they tell you if mail is light or heavy .We tackled do about it ,all of a sudden figures wernt put up on board STRANGE EH .We asked why figures arent being shown ,boss said why are you so concerned about figures for say no more .So i would suggest keep at your boss about daily figures they dont like it . :lfo

they actually claim its 150 to a box when infact the average is double that

this is what i have been trying to say all along
they now use a figure that is 23% lower than the figures they use to use last year to count the volume of mail
so according to RM the mail has dropped 10% since last year, while if they continued to use the same figures as last year then the mail volumes would actually show an increase of 15%

Managers say an average days mail is 42,000,isnt it srange because i was talking to an ex mails manager from 5yrs gone bye and he told me it was 32,000 in his day HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!,So come on guys exploit this so called 10% drop in mail What i believe it is , ITS A DROP IN REVENUE not mail ,what i mean is tnt,and the likes win the contract but we deliver the final mile and the post office know this so they give this FALSEdrop in mail :lfo

you only have to see yorks with hardly any trays in as the weight is at the maximum. so it does relate to mail being crammed in.i think the maximum weight for a tray is 10 kg .as for flats that is continually breached weightwise alhthough the york will come in at the correct weight.creative accountancy as recommended by our beloved chief executive.

You must be a manager Cos you are so wrong

Can you believe it ,wait for it ,tis truly shocking ,I mean it is counted out of the MC, Our office savings/business plan is based on it, jobs are slashed on the strength of this figure ,and guess what ,the figures are 30% out

Only last week when we had the RM Christmas cards, you remember the red things, well my office has approx 50 walks, take an average of 500 calls per walk, makes approx 25,000 items. Add in all the other mail we had that day and according to the figures we had only 47,000 items. So why did a third of the office have to cut off? Especially when we are 'geared up' to handle 90,000+ per day. Obviously we won't be 'geared up' like this for long.
