Transfer to another office

Hi, there is a possibility i will be looking a transfer mayb after xmas of this year, is there anything i can do to ensure i get one, or anything that might help me to get one? any help wud be great.. u guys seem to know ur stuff..

Madelin4 the way things are going at the moment you will be very lucky to get a transfer.Are you full time?Any job that becomes vacant from what i can see and have heard are made part time.Whats your sick record like?Managers very fussy with sick records.Will your DOM let you go?Unless you have a very good reason he may not let you go as he will then have to cover your job,are you a driver or ex p.h.g. they dont like to loose these sort of people.
You could always resort to making yourself such a pain in the arse that he will want to get rid of you,cue suggestions

Hi Johnnypick.. yea i am full-time but i wud prob be ok to drop part-time say 25 or 30 hours do overtime if need be or work few nights somewhere, my sick record is fine, on a stage 1 at mo for 5 months so far, im not phg or anything, i have my own town walk which i love and i know 1 rural which i hate being moved to , but apart from that , care about my work, i always ensure i do my walk well and never any complaints..

You will not get a transfer over 35 hours and the way I can see it more like 30 hours.

Ok my sweet chickadee.. IN my opinion your fulltime and want a transfer for Wot reasons.. Need a valid reason... This Is where E.H.S. Comer in very handy..
They say they Cant sway a move for you but they have a lot of clout still so First stop is there... If its Thru Health then it might be a diff matter but still go to the E.H.S. Or ATOS how they are now known... You say your willing to drop hours? Then i think they will listen... But i hope not down to 20 or 25 hrs.. Then its an AG job... Hold out for a F/T job Mate... But you need a back up and a story based on the truth... Get Dr's or health sevices involved.. I dont want any info here as its personal for u but if you ever want a chat PM me and i will always reply... Only to happy to help.. Funny enough i want a transfer and ive got issues to deal with in my MC... Sorting it out now... Fingers crossed for both of us Madelin... If you have an office in mind, get in touch with the DOM there. You may be able to sort a transfer out without going down the official way, if your DOM agrees to let you go and the new office has vacancies. You wont get full time but maybe 30hrs.

R u a true Dom DOM? Mayb my manager might not like me doing that? My record is very good, im good at my job, i no the job is getting harder but least if i was closer to home when i move and closer to my family i know i will be much happier.... i cud cope ok with 30 hours, i cud do overtime if i needed to..is there any reason why i wudnt be accepted for a transfer?

Just curious why not full time,are you saying that all new entrants/transfers ect will not be full time.
Surely if a full timer leaves and a full timer wants it then that's it.
Or is this RMs policy now?

I think if you answer yes to "Are you on the attendance procedure?" on the transfer request form then thats the end of of the application but if you go down the route that I suggested then a good word from your current DOM could get round this. I would value his/her opinion in thinking about accepting a transferee.

Hi madelin4, a friend of mine transfered back to my office last year where he worked for several years before he moved, he returned for personal reasons EHS involved etc. the lads on here are right, he is still on a 30hr contract to this day but you do say that you will be happy with this. The rep has been fighting for him to go full time, the DUM recently asked my friend 'do you still want to go full-time as I was told you don't want to'. Unusual that a DUM lying!!

You can always tell when a screw, dum or Laurel and Hardy are lying-the lips always move. .
