DROPPING TO PART TIME

HAS ANYONE DROPPED TO PART TIME?IM THINKING BOUT IT ,LESS STRESS BULLYING AND THE OTHER SUBJECT IVE SPOKE BOUT BEFORE .HAS ANYONE HAD A BUY DOWN OF HOURS?

The trouble you still have to do the full delivery and thats the part that whacks me out the 4 hours slogging on the round. Also our partimers nearly always book 45min to an hour over as their rounds arent fully prepped when they get in.

I dont think its all its cracked up to be unless you can job share and work something like Mon-Wed

As you say it might be worth dropping to part time if you could do 2 or 3 days a week. But it's the same old 5 days on delivery with rotating rest days - so to my mind you gain nothing and end up £100 or so down. Can't see the benefit to be honest

i get enough rest to re-charge my batteries. get to see the kids much more...
drop the kids off to school & pick them up when they finish.

if they offered me full-time i would decline as im happy with the current arrangement.

Its something i would like to do in the future (if there is one with RM). When the mortgage is paid off i would consider a drop in life style and spending for the sake of preserving my health.

When your comin out with 130 a week youll be wishing u was back full time earning 400 a week wen u work ur day off.

£400 a week!! yikes! i dont work my day off out of not wanting to help the bullying managers,and them not valueing there staff. Pay pack is a poor 260 a week after tax .

and before tax? and if u worked ur day off? and 2 or 3 hours overtime? about 400?

part time work ur day off 2 or 3 hour overtime - 200 if ur lucky

pay all the bills

weekly working tax credits on top of my wage packet help.

9-2 wed-fri and 7-12sat

Shame about saturday But you do get a decent break - now see why you do it. We've only been offered the 5 day shorter hours version thus far which to my mind isn't worth it.
