whats the story with absortion in most offices as our manager wants to get it going again on monday and is refusing to offer any overtime up first

If you have time within your delivery span then you can absorb; if not then you cannot. Absorption is not there to take you over your 3.5 hour delivery span. Having said that you hear of the sheep that we have in every delivery unit up and down the country who, given an hours worth of extra walk would kill their own parents to get out an hour earlier and the promise of job n off if they do 'play game' and take a whole lot more than they should.

I've read a few replies to the absorbtion issue and wanted to ask something. Some people have said that you should only take out what you think you can finish in your alloted time. My query is, what if you are on a new walk that you have no idea about. You wouldn't even be sure you could finish in normal time, let alone finishing extra. What happens when this happens on a regular basis?

My query is, what if you are on a new walk that you have no idea about. You wouldn't even be sure you could finish in normal time, let alone finishing extra. What happens when this happens on a regular basis?

Personally I'd ask around the office. The regular peeps should have an idea of what is doable in the given time. Make sure you ask a fair few of people as we all have the Lynford Christie ones who seem to brag off daily of how long it took 'them' when they did it. Managers always single these individuals out when discussing walks. "Old Lynford did that last week in 18 nannoseconds. What's up with you???"

Well that's ok but in the office i work in we have to do it 6 days a week. Mind you we do have a poison dwarf in charge and the casting couch is calling

We all got our £400 bribe in 07' and unfortunately everyone you ask "didn't vote for it" and yet it got in. That £400 cost us dear. Every paid minute must now be utilised. Some DOM's ARE ok but may have given up the ghost of trying to get up the ladder. Those conference bullying calls they have in a morning are to behold if you ever get chance to listen in on them they're hilarious - sometimes.

we did do it 6 days a week in the summer, then down to 3 days when summer lapsing was supposed to stop

Ask your dipsht dom what you have to take out telling him you will bring back what's left at finishing time.

We did it 6 days a week till about 6 weeks ago. Now its supposed to be once a week, although its often more.
