looking for a bit of advice

Evening guys, looking some advice here, as im really starting to dislike going to ork. its not the job itself, i love it. Ive been here over a year now and over the past few months its been pretty crap. im being sent to other offices constantly, put on floater duties then get thrown off because someone works there day off, managers constantly pressuring me and getting on at me. what really pissed me off is i came in few days ago and was sorting at my frame when another reserve goes into the manager office and the door gets closed. now this guy is the managers friend so to speak, the whole office knows this. so, 10 minutes later the managers walks up to me and says change of plan I need to swap with walks with X, I say why and he says because the sign on sheet was wrong, and that i was actually on his walk which is bollocks. i know its easy to say dont let it get to you, but its pretty hard when its happening all the time. anyone got any ideas on what my options are

Unfortunately this does go on and I ve seen reserves prep walks just to be swapped onto a crap duty because managers want to put the prepped one up for overtime.

If it is possible try to make yourself as useful as possible. What I mean by this is asked to be trained on some of the more complicated walks, like shop, high street deliveries. You have less chance of being sent elsewhere or being moved from one of those.

Can you drive a RM van ? Will they let you take the test? Once you can drive your options increase to firms, packet and bag dropping duties which again it is unlikely you will be swapped about.

Failing the above speak to your rep to see if things can be arranged more fairly in the futre.

Your first option is to attend a meeting with the Manager in the company of your Union Rep (if you are not a cwu member then you can take a trusted colleague in with you as witness) and see what can be sorted. If no solution is forthcoming you can take out a grievance against your manager, citing bullying and harassment as the main charge.

We all know that we are expected to be 'flexible' and respond positively to 'a reasonable request', but when this happens on a regular basis it over-steps the mark - and can lead to you taking sick absence through stress or other related illness.

sounds like me, ive been a reserve for nearly 3 years and i am still a reserve, but i class my role as the office scapegoat, wheres i have been put on a good work to cover the persons leave and to come in, and then be told different, or even differently i come in and told im in a different office! i try and take it on the chin at 1st but now i have numerous arguments with line managers and when i feel i'l be going over, i wil bring it back, somthing like take the piss out off me, and il do the exact same! just try and make ur managers job asdifficult as problem work to your time speak to him bout it, and if sames being put a grievance in a against them!they will soon become your best friend! lol

get your rep and get into office with manager they cant treat you like that if you let them walk all over you they will !
