The front cover of November’s edition of Courier carries the headline “STRIKES – are costing us business” and four big names were listed as having switched to competitors.
One of these ‘big 4’ was Boden. The inference from the article would clearly suggest that Boden’s business was switched because of the disruption to their deliveries caused by our strike action.
However, much to our surprise we are now seeing Boden packets arrive in the office marked with a CitiPost DSA sticker. This means that Boden are not seeing, or seeking, any improvement in the reliability of their deliveries to their customers but are purely seeking a reduction in costs. I’m assuming that Boden are aware that CitiPost don’t actually make the delivery for them.
I have a number of questions arising from this:
1) Is the article in the Courier deliberately misleading and, if so, should a correction be published?
2) When did packets become included in DSA and will there be many more similar arrangements to follow?
3) How are these packets recorded and charged to CitiPost. (I asked my Line Manager this one but he had no more idea than me.)
If there is anyone reading this that can shed some light on how this all works I’d be grateful to hear from you?

Heard a few rumours that DSA may be coming to and end for companies that do not have any intention of providing a Universal Postal Service.

Thats why TNT were gonna lobby Parliament about providing a U.P.S, but they wanted a load of financial help to be able to do it.
