...Does anyone see the logic?

I don't understand how purchasing / leasing 11,000 odd extra vehicles is going to be more efficient than the present set up. Not to mention putting so many more people through medicals and changeovers, which I believe are now done externally. Perhaps I'm missing something?

I've not really heard much mention of this in our office so far. In fact, it's not all that long ago that we were supposed to be getting electric bikes / trikes / shared vans (a year last September, I believe) but that also seems to have died a death.

We use park & loop in our office. It doesn't WORK when its busy, and people are bullied to completing delivery and taking packets out.

we had a trial in our office it clearly didnt work dom says tough it has to work,cant figure why bother with a trial

Lincoln sorting office went out on unofficial industrail action over this earlier in the year. People being bullied into driving and being threatened with suspension if they didnt go out in the vans. Mass walk out. They still use this method but the management have given in to alot of what they first proposed. Also alot of it brought in without the unions knowledge

Much as I thought then. Hopefully, it will die a death before it gets to us. And yes I do have a vested interest in it NOT coming in, because I'm a driver. At our present office there is only just room for the vans now, although we're supposed to be moving within the next couple of years (heard that before once or twice!), so the situation may be different at the new place.

oh yeah plus i get a nice 20-30 minute drive back to the office every day
less time on delivery so less mail & packets delivered
