JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
We are constantly told job and finish is no longer part of the job, therefore on saturday most of our delivery posties cut off. We were told to sort and sort and sort and knowing the job as we do ( as opposed to those who tell us how to do the job, we knew we could not complete.
Royal Fail think the term "job and finish" is merely a tool they can use against us but this is going to backfire on them over the christmas period, what with the butchery of nights and the poor sods on part time contracts.
Cut off.
Do the job properly.
Keep your conscience clear.
Those bastards are ruining the service to the public. not us.
One last thing, when they come creeping up to you asking to work your day off, laugh in their faces. If the miners lasted a year without pay for what they knew was right, we can miss a few days pay. Strikes will resume in January and I am sad to say they should never have been called off. It smacks of Union top brass looking after their own needs and future existance over the working men who need to be represented for the interest and livelyhood of all.

Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
Strikes could resume this month, ballot is still live and CWU policy is give the 7 days notice and take us out again if RM play silly buggers. For the strikes to resume Jan would mean perfect co operation from RM on the agreement and then fully or partially withdrawing from what they have agreed in January.
That said we could find ourselves voting no to a national agreement proposal in Jan and taking action following the no vote.

Sillybuggers = being complete cants

good lad, work your 8hrs dont worry about how much work they give us and if we cant complete it cut off. We wont be bullied into working for free to save the company money and make bonuses for managers who couldnt even run a bath let alone a company.

Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
Who gives a toss if we strike in January, if we clear xmas then no-one will even care, RM wins again!!!!!
Carry on these strike through Xmas then we win RM must back down or receive the publics wrath.
However if strikes are called in January i think most people would work as the CWU have backed down too soon &
too many people have lost too much money already.
Carry on the fight through xmas and win the biggest fight in RM history

Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
I can see this whole scenario developing into farce in the new year after RM smoothing the way through Christmas and then renaging on everything agreed.
Come the union elections in February some of the top table could pay a heavy price and then a reshaped CWU will have to sort out the whole sorry mess while on the back foot.
BUT, I am not expecting the customer to be at all impressed with the moden face of Royal Mail and a company is NOTHING without a happy customer.

My office was 100% strong striking but if these sh!tbags Ward,Hayes etc ask us out again I think it will be 100% working. That's twice these gutless B@STARDS have let us down there will not be a third time.Big Daz wrote:Strikes could resume this month, ballot is still live and CWU policy is give the 7 days notice and take us out again if RM play silly buggers. Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
I can see your point jockstrap my feelings were much the same when the strikes were SUSPENDED, but now i can understand that ward &co had to give royal mail a chance as no agreement would be made whilst strike action was being done, We have now given royal mail the chance to sort this problem out with negotiation under no distress, If they now turn there backs on us then we know they didn't want an agreement anyway (but we have given them that chance) in which case 7 days notice and back on the gate, this time ward & co will know that the strike can not be suspened on any false promises and an agreement MUST be made before any strikes are stopped. The cwu have not been gutless (YET) as long as they stand by what they say and don't let RM get passed Christmas with no firm agreement. We need to stand together to get an outcome!! I will be giving them a final chance.jockstrapp wrote:My office was 100% strong striking but if these sh!tbags Ward,Hayes etc ask us out again I think it will be 100% working. Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
I wont work 1 minute for free and the first time my gaffer stops me booking OT for going over will be the last. TBH the only way I'd be over is if the driver was really late.
What I dont get is if you try to book later on in the week and the gaffer says "well it was a quiet Tuesday so you made time there".
I mean where can you go, cos technically he's right.

Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
Thats an agreed work pattern with agreed start/finish times although personally i would not touch long and shorts with a barge pole.bluebite79 wrote:What about longs and shorts?? if you finish early on a tuesday and work it back later in the week surely thats longs and shorts? Or am i wrong

Re: JOB AND FINISH : NO SUCH THING
yes, but if you were to finish say 13.25, (30minutes early) short, mclovin wrote:Tuesday is already a shorter working day 6 or 630 (depending on day off) - 13.55. 7 hrs 55 or 7 hours 25.

then on say Thursday finished 14.25, (30 minute late) Long.
This is still long and short surely, What about in the pay and modernisation agreement where it say all hours of work must be utilised.
Please, Correct me if i'm wrong.
