Went back Friday not knowing deal. Monday DOM made it clear nothing has changed. In fact, everything now worse than before strikes. Agreement is too vague -everything is being implemented as if there had been no IA. I know a lot of you guys don't support London but we're shafted (and it's coming to you soon). Bullying and harassment worse than ever. Mail everywhere in the office but RM release press statement saying all mail clear (where are CWU people putting the true picture).

Morale in my office at all-time low. Managers screw us - CWU screw us.What the hell did we go back for???

DOM's refuse to talk to reps. Managers insist that ALL changes will be made. No o/t allowed in office but shed-loads of managers shipped down to take out mail (badly) or flooded with casuals. WTF is going on??

Why the f**k did we go back? Especially after the debacle of 2007? Management are totally ignoring anything agreed. Get through Christmas and then we're all dead meat.

This is a classic case of RM Sniper shooting - weve had it at my office too, the union have only helped management in my opinion with their backstabbing.

Crikey! Anybody who thinks they've had it relatively easy up to now, and that's how it's always gonna be, well, those people really do need their heads examining. Royal Mail is all about savings, cost cutting, more savings, more cost cutting, even more savings, even more cost cutting, and I cannot for the life of me see an end to it, can you? As long as we have one-trick ponies at the top, nobody's place of work is safe, nobody's.

This was never about just London, this was about Royal Mail wanting to weaken union in the workplace in order so that they can push through their unprecedented change agenda.

Fact is that the change they have in the pipeline for us all,, yes the whole of the UK, is huge.

Royal Mail have played a cute game by hiding revealing their change agenda even to who they call their own people. Instead they use the old tactic of blaming one part of the business in this case London. This allowed them to push through their executive action agenda in places like London , Parts of Scotland ,Bristol , Plymouth , Swindon , Peterborugh, the VOCs and RDCs and other places which led to the some of the most long running disputes in the Post Office in days of strike since 1971.

Relationships in certain areas are so strained that when we are meeting management at senior level sparks really fly. Certainly they hate us and I know that they dont like the fact that the agreement has allowed the union back into negotiations when they thought they would crush us. Some of our members have been out for over 23 days in this fight and Royal Mail believed that our members would not be up for this lengthy strike.

The National strike was in my view 2 or 3 months to late. But equally lets be honest if it was not for pockets of scotland who started in March along with Upper Edmonton and then the rest of London from June , Bristol , Plymouth ,Peterbough , Network and others then quite franky there would never have been a national ballot. As in the end the pressure from us forced the PECs hand in calling a national a ballot.

Equally if we are honest some areas in this strike were not that well supported whilst in Mail centres it was 90% supported in deliveries it was appox 80% supported with some divisions like the South East having trouble in the GU , BN , TN , RH areas and there was some other notable problems around the UK.

But if we want to know why this is a national fight well lets have a look at the following.

Royal Mail want to introduce a later last delivery time of 3 for urban and 4 for rurals.

Walk sequencing will mean that some delivery offices will not be getting their work till 10 in the morning making some offices predominently part time.

Royal Mail want a 3 o clock finishing time for all delivery offices on a saturday due to the forthcoming network changes.

Royal Mail want indivduals to work at 100 bsi both indoor and outdoor.

Royal Mail want to rationalise both delivery offices and mail centres and collections.

In addition to the local resolutions that is why we needed to get a national agreement on the future.

Either this agreement is going to work or we need to take further strike action in order to obtain an agreement which works.

We will find out on Wednesday when the PEC meet whether the agreement is working or whether further strike action needs to be called. In London we will make our decision tomorrow over which way we will be lobbying the PEC at their meeting.

I know your thoughts on the CWU Wranglered, but it's the RM that is the problem here, no mention of that though don't forget they are the ones that stitched you up not the cwu, yes they are not perfect but I trust them, Rm with no union,no thanks, & you can sit there & slag of the cwu just because they failed you but they have also helped lots of others, & your ok now because you have left the RM, but the rest of us still have to put up with the s**t & I for one will always pay my subs, if the CWU pack it in then so will I.

Mail Centre night shift staff have been told that they want them to work Sundays 8am - 4pm with the Mail Centre closed by 8pm. No night service at all until Tuesday !!! I dont know what theyve got planned, but it doesnt look family friendly in anyway whatsoever.
