Saturday 26th December BOXING DAY

Been told today that this has been gracefully given as a day off for everyone,as its not an official Bank Holiday.
And if your day off for that week falls on the Saturday you won't get a day in lieu.
So all the people with Saturday off lose out,don't they?
Can someone give me more info on this?

Postcomm have declared it a 'no service' day.
Don't think of it as people whose day off falls on that day as 'losing out'. Think of it as thousands upon thousands of people not having their Christmas Day ruined by thoughts of having to get up early the next day

We've been told that Saturday is coming out of AL for the year. If it's being given as a day off to others then it sure as hell should be for everyone.

Last time this happened, a few years back, our local managers didn't know about the 'no service day' and had to credit back a day's leave to those that came in and worked

Tell your DOM you will all be in on the Saturday because you don't want it coming out of your A/L, he'll soon change his mind if he's got to come in
