If You Did'nt Support The Union
A lot was said during the strike that if you were not prepared to support the yes vote and come out on strike you should quit the union.

**IF , and a big if**, it all goes pear shaped in the new year , I'm sure Ward, at least, will resign . He would have to surely if new faces \ candidates were available, and that's another big IF .
As a Union, we would need a clean slate if the worst was to happen.

I dont think so I expect theyll be hanging on for grim death! Dont know about you but if the CWU cant sort this problem now how much support are they going to get next time!
I know a lot of people are now supporting the Union out of loyalty and principle, but you cant rely on that for ever! Youve got to show results! Talk to older posties see what they got over the years. I support the Union but they have got to make a difference! Start with stopping all this Part Time Bullshit lets get back to running a proper service

If the worse was to happen and royal mail walk away after xmas or even worse the union leadership urge us to vote for another crappy agreement then we have got to get back on the picket lines and see where it takes it this time.
Firstly there would have to be some sort of an apology from the leadership or if not then a major effort from the membership to take back control of the dispute from the so called experts.I know there is a lot of 'ill never go back on strike again cos the union has sold me down the river' etc but if people were prepared to lose two days last week then they should be prepared to lose that pay again if required to do so in the new year.Also, i thought like a lot of other people giving up xmas as a bargaining tool was a bad move but i dont know about your office but in mine its pretty busy from january through to march with holiday stuff.council stuff and dont forget the general election is next year aswell...as my ma used to tell me,two wrongs dont make a right.If it is wrong for royal mail to smash up the postal service and if it was wrong for the union leadership to call off the strikes then what we gotta ask ourselves is if the strikes were still going ahead,how long would you be prepared to stay out for and what issues in the dispute can we not give an inch on.

We have not given up Xmas as a bargaining tool.If there are going to be more strikes they will be before xmas not after.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

doubt anyone will resign. these people know they're on a bloody good earner for doing very little. if as you say it doe's all go pear shaped i think the union will just wither on the vine.
