If you was off sick with a physical injury and you..........

Post by Sci_Dog »

....attended a picket line can Royal Mail deduct your days wages? I'm talking along the lines off a broken leg or arm which would make it absolutely impossible to carry out your normal duties at work. I would suspect if you were off with stress or depression and you atteneded a picket line, they could deduct your wages no problems. They would probably think if you can attend a picket line then you can attend work. Maybe Royal Mail have the same stance regardless of the reasons why your off. Just curious more than anything.

It's hard to see how someone who claims to be off with work-related stress can do anything but undermine their own argument if they manage to turn up outside work and stand on a picket line

I think already clarified your point that in the original post. That's why I asked would the same principles apply to a physical injury like a broken leg or arm?

I don't think it would look good if someone with a broken leg was prepared to be outside their place of work in cold weather when claiming to be unable to work. Why would anyone in that situation want to invite Royal Mail to consider not paying them ? Personally, I'd be at home with my foot up - literally :dance
