MANAGERS UNION SPEAK OUT . . . . .possibly

I'm hearing rumours that the managers union (whatever that's called) has written to Leighton and Crozier requesting that they return to the negotiating table with the CWU and enter meaningful talks.

This isn't as unlikely as it first sounds when you think that it's their members that are being given the task of trying to keep up with all the problems we keep giving them. We get to walk out once a week and get a fair bit of public support whilst they all have to mop up the mess, now I'm not showing any sympathy to the screws, stuff 'em, but they are getting grief from us and grief from above too, so their union getting twitchy is understandable.

Don't misunderstand, they're not taking sides and certainly not supporting us but at least it's a bit more pressure for Laurel and Hardy to actually talk to us. That's if any of this rumour is true . . . . anyone else heard anything ?

No, not heard anything billypants, im just fed up at the min.Moved me off my walk next week, i think he is trying to take it off me as a part-timer is coming up from another office to do it.. i hate the place.

Yes i have signed for it cruisey, and i went off sick for a week and a half 5 months ago because it got to me.. my dom's manager said just to move me as a last resort, i asked him 2day was i a last and he said prob not.. the driving gets me stressed as im not used to it everyday like the rural men, and i love my walk with my customers, its the only thing that keeps me going.. i feel i dont have any1 to talk to in there.

Why is he moving you?
I know he will quote the as required rule but thats just a RM tool that was never agreed with the CWU.
Ask him for a HR1 form and tell him you feel you are being singled out and you feel bullied and harrased.

MADELIN4, This can not be correct, 1st get your office rep to Object, if this does not work find time to phone your A/Rep and let him know, and get him to act on your behalf.

Had our WTLL on Tuesday as usual. Dom. mentioned the rumour about their union members being ballotted, but said that this was not true. I have mentioned all this to both managers and told them straight that they should be with us on this, as they have as much, or even more to lose, if it goes the way of the pear. Got the usual," well its alright for you, but we will lose our jobs "nonesense. blah, blah, blah.

That's been put on hold,the job applying thing,when they're finished with us they'll be back for them.

Just another quick idea . . . . in our office anyone who doesn't want to do a driving duty just forgets to bring their driving licence in for the 6 monthly check up, then it's a legal requirement that they ban you from driving untill you do, therefore leaving you on walking deliveries only.
