How significant is the back log caused by the strikes?

The reason I ask is that a club I am a member of sent out news letters to all members, via a mail house, about two weeks ago. Yet many members (including me) have yet to receive theirs. So, I've been asked if I can shed any light...

Locally at least, the back log seems to have been cleared by the middle of last week, but I just wondered what the situation is around the country?

I have a couple of reasons for doubting the strikes are to blame: 1) As I said above, locally we seem clear, and the mail house is in our county. And 2) the person who asked me to investigate has received his (as I said above, I haven't) and he also lives within the county.

I suspect the mail house have cocked up and are trying to blame us. Not for the first time, either.

More than likely the fault of the mailing house for several reasons:

Newsletters don't get stolen.
We see lots of examples of faulty or non existent addressing by a third party.
Standard procedure of any business trying to defer blame for delayed communications is "It's Royal Mail's fault"
Delayed mail doesn't seem to be a real problem anywhere - it's packets because of the bulk involved.
Did you find out from the person who received theirs, whether it has an RM or a DSA logo - maybe the mailing house were shopping around for an even cheaper deal - 5p each and we'll send them when we feel like it !!!
