Dont ever ask me for a yes vote again
After months and months of talks and discussions, and being told a yes vote was the only way we could get what we want by the CWU .The cwu got the vote, got the support, after 2 days of national strikes, £160 down and countless hours freezing on the picket line, the cwu had Royal Mail by the short and curlys so what do they do? - Bottle it, call the srikes off and reach an agreement that will allow them and Royal Mail to TALK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. What do we come into work to? - oh yes still lapsing every day, bullying and harrasment by the dom, oh and now the added overime restrictions. When it all goes pear shaped in January and Royal Mail says no no no, I wont be walking out again. A delay in delivering all the holiday brochures we get will not have the same impact . So Hayes and Ward do one u mugs
.Almost forgot they have agreed something, Phase 4 to be rushed through, ooh cant wait as the other 3 have been so great !

Re: Dont ever ask me for a yes vote again
There must be reasons for the ending of strikes during the Christmas period, it doesn't mean the Union have caved in.
Maybe just maybe a bit of common sense kicked in - we were winning the battle with solid support during IA, but we were in real danger of damaging the business long term as businesses moved their custom elsewhere.
I do agree we are in a weakened position by ending the IA and come January RM will get what they want, while we suffer even more.

Yeah, we have certainly been mugged off with this one.
What makes it so annoying, when you ask the union reps, no-one seems to know what's in this agreement.

Why have they not read it?

Re: Dont ever ask me for a yes vote again
God knows, i asked him yesterday and he just said i know as much as you as i haven't read through it yet, tbh our reps are shockingly bad, one rep who works on the night shift had lieu days booked for this week strikes... criminalBig Daz wrote:bigtee wrote:Yeah, we have certainly been mugged off with this one.

But, in the past, they have made collective agreements without our taking a vote. so,I will not be holding my breath.
