collapsing
Heres one for you ,we were told we had to collapse today some of us said no we cant due to the volume of mail
Of cause all the strike breakers had volunteered for it ,np there from me other than they were running about like they had rockets up there arse
Some reason they have to be the 1st out the office???
Anyway they left specials in hand by 9.15
At 9.40 go to get recorded card told i have a special go to manager ask where cards are
He says cant have them while 10 or its not fair on those who are collapsing
Yet every other week ALL cards are put out early regardless of who is doing what
Double standards or what or sour grapes cause they didnt get it all there own way (Royal Mail i mean)

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: collapsing
oh lapsing
we do that in dh8/9 have been for ages
now i thought that it was called summer lapsing and if it is why do we do it ALL year round.
in summer we did 2 duties on both sides dh8 and 9 but now do 1 each side, however we dont do it if management says we are above traffic that day or if dh8 go a bit slower than they do normally.
has been known for dh8 not to do id but dh9 do,funny that as the office is called derwentside ldo NOT CONSETT AND STANLEY AND LANCHESTER ( part of dh7)
oh well happy days

Re: collapsing
It all becomes meaningless if, you start on your time, finish on your time, and in between, take your 40 minute meal relief, and ensure you do your job safely and properly, weigh your trolley, drop bags, etc, etc. It takes a while to get the message sink in, but take it from me, even the dimmist dimwitted DIM, realises even he can't get blood out of a stone.

Re: collapsing
in nearly two years [poss about 04/07] our office has lapsed every week except for about four weeks. the last time we had a day off was the day the ballot papers went out
do the lasping first and if you go over then book it
how can you lapse and go over ?. if my sums are right, even if there was no sick we are a man short, we have a walk that is permanently lapsed. we have been done with our pants up. not many stand up to the harrassment. last time my dim mithered me it was a bad day [battered] he made a sarcastic comment. so not only did i not lapse, he had to find someone to do 45mins of my round because i told him i was cutting off as well. i don't mind helping out now and then but he has to realise overtime is voluntary. he made the cuts to further his career/bonus it's not my fault the office can't function without goodwill, overtime and people who run round like idiots. i have tried to convert people to do the job properly but it's hard work after years of bullying and bullsh1t. i'll keep trying though, we have to stand together. carry on rewardless
It's life Jim but not as we know it

Re: collapsing
I have no time to do any lapsing, tell me to do a bit of a lapsed walk, and I'll tell you I won't be able to complete my signed for duty, tell me you want a half hour of my own time, and I'll tell you to go forth and multiply, tell me you'll give me extended if I stay out over my time, and I'll tell you make it treble time and I'll think about it, tell me you won't, and I'll ask you what you want me to leave in my frame.happymackem wrote:explain that to me pleaseDirtyHarry wrote:It all becomes meaningless if, you start on your time, finish on your time, and in between, take your 40 minute meal relief, and ensure you do your job safely and properly, weigh your trolley, drop bags, etc, etc. It takes a while to get the message sink in, but take it from me, even the dimmist dimwitted DIM, realises even he can't get blood out of a stone.
