After reading the details of the deal to call off strikes, what do you think of the agreement?

The reason for striking in the first place was that the talks didnt work as rm want it all their own way, the thinking by the union that rm are going to suddenly have a more friendly approach just like that is crazy, its an obvious stalling tactic to get xmas out of the way, as soon as xmas over it will go back to normal by which i mean the imposition will continue, a lot of union members will have given up now as in my opinion going on strike was the last resort after ALL talks have failed, they did fail so we went on strike and now we have backed down to a load of empty promises, the union are not up to the job as we should have kept the strikes up, once rm start their bullying tactics after xmas the union will have to call for more strikes and the support wont be as strong next time round.

Even the business correspondent on radio 4's PM programme has just said we've been shafted. Not from the words of the agreement but by managements attitude

Been with R/M too long to believe they will stick to any agreement---certainly in the long ago past they did in some measure. But for the last 8 years or so, as soon as agreements are reached, and harmony restored in the workplace, they slowly start to instigate changes to any agreements, and none to our benefit. They should be made to stand up in a sort of american stlyle court, and swear publicly they will honour all terms and conditions, and they should be wired to a lie detector machine.
