Pouching off

So when it comes to endorsements of non delverable items, I normally wait until I am back in office before I do these.

I waited 15 mins on a bus last week and spent roughly another 10 minutes on bus jourey, walking to office and endorsing mail.

My manager quizzed me about the overtime and when I explained, he told me that I should endorse my mail while waiting for the bus.........

Does that not compromise the mail integrity code? Anyone could walk past, grab the mail and run!!

The difference is that at a bus stop you are standing still looking and writing on letters and your attention is diverted.

I look whats ahead of me and around me when I'm delivering. I only look at the mail at each delivery point (customers letterboxes)

I endorse my "undeliverables" as I come across them, put them at the back of the bundle. Then when I go for the next bundle put the endorsed mail into the pouching of bag.

Not wanting to cause any grief by being on one side or another - just stating how I do it.

I endorse them while I'm still at the address, and put them straight to the back of the bag myself

Me too, though it's dangerous if you're in a rush. Recently finished my bundle turned away from the letter box and thought - where did that m/s i put to the back go?

This is the daftest thread i've ever seen. Just endorse them at the address, or when you get to a pouch drop, or when you've finished before you walk to the bus stop. How long does it take anyway, a minute at the most?

soon after I started I was checked up on my my dom on delivery and I had a letter in my pouch bag not for the area I was doing as it had been miss prepped. he was less than impressed and as I had not endorsed imediately potential left me open to his wild acusations. now I endorse all at door or wherever I have them just to cover my
back.

I always though pouching off was when you couldn't make it back to the delivery office, What you do is put all your endorsed mail, packets and whatever else you need to return into a little blue pouch, which you then either put into your nearest post box or post office for the collection driver to return it to your office

How so? Given that an individual could get sacked for not following this procedure correctly.
As you have seen on this thread, people are unaware of whats involved.

Just endorse them at the address, or when you get to a pouch drop, or when you've finished before you walk to the bus stop. How long does it take anyway, a minute at the most?

I have seen myself spending 5 minutes endorsing mail due to not gaining entry to flats.
