Calling Tunbridge Wells workers!

Post by becky »

Hi, I was one of the people who came down from Wealden Progressive Movement to support the picket at Tunbridge Wells sorting office on Saturday. We took a photo of the guys on the picket, and I've designed a leaflet which we can give you copies of to hand out to passing cars.

We weren't there for very long on Saturday, but it was great to see how many beeps you got just in that short time. The cars go quite slow on that stretch so I think handing out leaflets and rattling a bucket would be quite a good way to get more support.

We have a Rally planned this Saturday (7th Nov) at 2pm at the Millenium Clock in TW town centre, against public service cuts in general.

What I need for my leaflet to be really perfect is some quotes and general feeling from the workers themselves, so anyone who wants to post something, however long or short, please do!

If you want to see the leaflet so far, PM me and I'll send you a pdf. And of course, anyone who is free this Saturday afternoon, please do come along to the Rally and tell your mates. United we stand etc.

Any other support we can give on the picket line etc, please let us know.

Regards,

Becky (Wealden Progressive Movement)

Feel free to come up the A21 to Sevenoaks ( Sevenoaks DO, South Park, Sevenoaks TN13 1AA ) - we're a fairly strong office :dance - and there's a decent sandwich shop over the road ( and a great bagel shop round the corner )
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

Probably before 10am - people tend to drift off from around that time, but there will be a picket from 5 - 5:30am, and I'll be aiming to get there before 6am, but I'm certain Trojan will be there early ( he's the unit rep )

Pistol, which office are you at?

Smokerjim, we will try and come down to you Monday morning, hopefully with some leaflets. We will do Tunbridge Wells tomorrow and Saturday, as we are trying to build as much support as we can for the No Cuts Rally in TW at 2pm Saturday.

I think it's important to make the point that all public jobs & services are potentially under threat in some way from cuts and/or privatisation, and it's only by standing together and protesting as loud as we can that we stand a chance of reversing the tide.

Will you still be coming down, or will you take the view that events have overtaken us?
