OFFICE CHANGES

Post by Theghost »

Im going to paste a reply i put in another topic,Just want to know is this wrong? The manager seems to have got around this as its classed as "overtime"

Our office have brought in 4 hour 30 deliveries.
They have two 30 hour contracts doing a van share, they go in 6am throw up their rounds (No Ips) then go onto another round and throw that in with another two 30 hour contracters, they spend about 20 mins each throwing in the (Breakdown round) They then split it 4 ways,They also must take EVERY parcel between the rounds and Every special delivery.
About twelve 30 hour contractors do this,so thats 12 rounds covered and 3 extra are broken down,6 vans are used.
They are all paid 30 hours also 2 hours S/A per day,The manager refused them to have a normal 40 hour contract and this was the best he would offer them.
I feel sorry for them because some days they are going out with mountains of mail and 20 + parcels.
I know they have been guaranteed this until may next year,They have been doing it since september.
In the last 3 years in my office 12 full time workers have Left / Sacked but not 1 part timer has been made full time,Giving us more and more work to do on the IPS every morning,Yet other offices have.
Consistency throughout Royal Mail.............................NOT.Theghost
