Royal Fail and Training

Post by smok3y666 »

I have rang HR and the Recruitment line this morning to find out about getting training to further my career. What a JOKE. HR told me that I have to be in a job that is related to the higher position I want. Then and only then would I be considered for any further training. So for example: I want to be a manager of some sort, I have no managerial experience or training and I am currently a sorter/loader. I ask RM for THE training I need for me to progress. NO CHANCE.

Now I know why all the managers are useless. My managers are failed delivery drivers with NO PREVIOUS MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS but oh yes they just happen to be best buddies with the depot manager. No problem, promotion.

Then there are those who come from other places of work with no experience of the postal/delivery system and then find themselves out of there depth.

RM YOUR I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT IF YOU TRAIN AND PROMOTE THE PEOPLE WITHIN YOUR WORKPLACE THAT WANT TO GET SOMEWHERE THEY WILL BE BETTER THAN EMPLOYING THE PEOPLE YOU RECRUIT FROM OUTSIDE OF THE BUSINESS OR PROMOTING THE FAILED MORONS WHO CANNOT DO THEIR JOB. :cfo

Exactly. What's a 1-2-1? The only time I've had a 1-2-1 is when i've said I can't take the extra work out they wanted me to do because I didn't want to work the O/T. I've approached my depot manager , he told me he'd get the manager below him to speak to me. He did. He told me that unless it was beneficial to the depot then it was "NO". SO I thought i'd take it further and speak to RM which I did this morning and it's still "NO".

My previous place of work, which closed down to to being moved abroad, paid for people to go to Uni and all sorts. I know 2 people who went to Uni (years before anything was mentioned about closure) at my previous work place. One went to get a maths degree so he could become a teacher and the other did an Engineering degree. I myself got trained in 6 Sigma, Work Study and Time Measurement and had guidance on Engineering. I started off working on a production line.

If this is RM's policy on getting better people to manage and run the business then they are screwed.
