One of ours left a few years back to work for a high street electrical store. Lasted 3 weeks, sacked for gross misconduct :left:
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

None but i'm sure these new qualifications Rm have invented will be useful when going for a new job. Just think when applying for a new job

person 1 = MSQ recognised qualification against

person 2 = Degree in Business Management

Who gets selected for interview????

Qualities required to be a RM manager....

1) The ability to lie through your teeth

2) The ability to brown nose your superiors

3) The ability to bully your underlings

Any more anyone can think of?

From all the ones ive ever met, every single one lacks basic communication skills. Never seen such a large group of people so out of their depth.

They have such little contact with customers its unreal, whereas in a large proportion of private sector companies managers tend to deal with a large amount of customers. Imagine a RM manager trying to talk to a customer the way they communicate with us!

A poster that was up in the depot I work in sums it up nicely

"If at first you don't succeed - become a Royal Mail Manager"

unfortunately it was removed after a few weeks - it took the managers that long to see, read and understand it :whistle

I would say, barely a handful of managers in Royal Mail would make it anywhere else.

I worked for Sainsburys in my teen the management training then
was well respected and people walked into other retail jobs.
Difficult to see anyone employing a dom better to say you were in sales or accounts or say you were a driver or postman!
I'm a postman-and i know where you live.....

Yeah, until a frontal lobotomy can be reversed, most firms wishing to remain solvent, would do well to steer clear of shifty looking characters clutching seedy little CVs highlighting their time as a manager in Royal Fail.
