late flood of mail from strike????

Post by goinpostal »

Our office has been inundated since wednesday with mail, people are wondering if it has been held back to make sure people don't thinkits strike mail then piled through the system - same happening anywhere else? Don't want to get too paranoid.

If we were doing more than one-dayers then there wouldn't be a question they'd hvae to pile it through -

Have a look at the date stamp. Is it mail from TNT/DHL/Uk Mail? There are ways of working out if that is the case. It might also be people panic sending prior to the next strike.

I don't work in the industry anymore so can't give you a definitive answer. However if Royal Mail was found to be holding back mail that is technically withholding mail illegally and the company could face massive fines. My own view would be that they haven't done this

Very heavy week with certain line managers telling folk they can't cut off :chuckle & these are the lads that have to cut off on heavy days throughout the year. I'm sure it won't be long before things are taken further if they continue to talk to them in such an aggressive manor. Theres only the odd person that has been convinced to stay out & claim time.

late flood of mail

Post by elingviking »

We failed on Wednesday AND Thursday due to pizza lover 2nd class and Virgin TNT s**t needing to be hand sorted. Our Doms are tipping sorting and delivering along with cutting out any extended and if you want to do overtime it pays less than it is worth ie 6 hours delivery time only gets paid 5 on docket. Can't think wht the Doms are sooooooooo bizzy?

Has been a busy week, bits of cut offs here and there,we're on the vans and today was blinding. :dance
We'd done shed loads and was just finishing off bout 9-ish,getting ready to have our break, when ANOTHER shuttle arrived!
f**k knows how or why but anyways bout 5 yorks on there for us and the other office in our building.
The place went mad,we started cheering and clapping the other side started crying :dance
We had about 4-5 walksort each plus bits and bobs.
:funneh My 1st letter was 11-30 for a 1-30 ish cut off
So a 2hr walk again :nana
Mass cut off in the office :Applause

Moral of the story 'get on the f***ing vans!!!' get in!!!!! :dance

Failed dispatch Mon/Tues/Wed, they did keep it back and they fed it in. Next strike date should hurt them more. I think we need to go for 2 or 3 days and I know some will go in but we have to make it difficult for Crozier :cfo and Leighton :lfo . They are not listening, neither is Brown :mad so lets jam the system up  . We have nothing to lose. 40,000 of us will not be here in the future so lets do it!

you wouldnt think we all work for royal mail thats the biggest problem with royal mail the rules should be applied to everyone equally
whether its attendance, conduct, wilful delay ,bullying and the list goes on

treat everybody equally and not just give it lip service
