SORRY TO BE THE BEARER OF BAD NEWS BUT WHY ARE WE STRIKING

Are we striking for the posties who do not want their walks increased to 3 and a half hours, also park and loop. If we are then i am sorry boys and gals that I do not agree but will walk with you in any case. We already do park and loop and our walks do take us up to 4 hours 3 and a half normally minimum. What do you all think ?

This sounds like the 'London Talk'. Now either it IS that easy in London and all the posties from London are lieing to us, or the Royal Mail Management are.

It's a no brainer really.

As for striking, pick your reasons

1) Workloads
2) Privatisation
3) Slash and Burn of services
4) Royal Mail are shutting out the Union.

I am striking to try and stop the "indoor working tool" being implemented.
We already have pegasus walks (3 1/2 hours) but the next stage the IWT is crazy.
We got hold of proposals for our office and they are loopy.
ie: 15 mins ips prep TWO rounds then deliver a pegasus round and
this is for a part timer

Yes, but the BBC does not help when it says on every report that we are striking over "Pay and Modernisation"

This reads 'we want more pay and are stopping poor Royal Mail introducing all this wonderful technology that would transform the company for the better'.

Putting aside local changes to my office which are slowly crippling me.

We have a democratic process in place were changes in our working practice are first proposed then discussed with our union to see if they are in fact workable.
We may then get the chance to vote in favour of one or two options open to us. Finally the changes are implemented at a local level with full testing and risk assessment which may extend for a few weeks bedding in to make sure everyone is capable of handling the extra work without being over stressed.

What has happened recently is all new changes have been forced upon us by total executive action without any Union or local agreement. As to any assessment of extra workload we have been simply told to get on with it or face severe discipline action which will result with the stopping of our pay.

Personally I find it unacceptable and degrading to be treated in such a manner and thus support the strike action 100%.

rolf its the same in our unit minus the park and loop, hardly no overtime, pillar box collections cancelled so those drivers go out and finish off the walks the posties could not finish, should i go on

Or just don't bother, let Mr. Crozier take the helm (don't hear much off him, do we? - ever?), take his advice, just 'shut up' , let RM be 'modernised' just like the banks, get rid of the unions because they caused the downfall of Royal Mail, and everything will be fine!
