Chances of a resolution this week?

This is just a post for people to air their hopes, thoughts or any rumours they've heard if that RM & CWU are gonna get near a resolution this week?

This will be the 3rd week of talks between the 2 parties.

It depends as if RM really want to smash the CWU then why sign an agreement or have they really bitten of more than they can chew this time we will see they might decide to cull the managers to give us some breathing space

I doesn't really matter - Unless its a good fair deal, we WILL fight on, whatever the cost. REMEMBER - RM wants to sack 60,000 F/T jobs and convert the rest of us to P/T.

A Long term STABLE agreement is what we want, NOT a short term form of words to see us through to summer 2010.

If your rep is crap and you care about ypur job...STAND for the reps job

patio1 it doesn't sound like you are helping your rep. why dont you tell him if you know something is going on instead of coming on here and calling the union.

What's the chance this time RM repeating what they did in 07 and tagging another lump sum like the £400 carrot? I hope this time we've learned our lesson on that one but some people out there would sell members of their family for less believe me.

How long has it been?? How will this week be any different?? Think it is time discussions were made public then we will see what is really being said. Don't see any resolution if they wanted to fix it they would. Think they are thinking let it go pop and that way debt will not need to be cleared. Discussions need to be made more public then we will see exactly what direction they want to head in .......ie Modernisation do the actually mean Privatisation???????

Didnt i read somewhere that :cfo said it would take two months to negotiate everything. I dont think it will mean striking for all that time but as its been said lets not saign a rubbish deal again and siang anything that waived in front of us

RM will string this out because they know they can and they will be dependent on people drifting back to work as Christmas draws near.
Thankfully the majority of CWU members will stick it out.

One of the problems i think there is must be in those offices where the changes have been forced in thru executive action, where peoples attendances/duty patterns have been changed already ?? Theres got to be a deal on the table now for them surely ?? Compensation for those who have suffered a loss of earnings too ?? Redundancy / who gets it & how it affects others left behind ??
