Favouritism

Post by RTI »

I think the lino that sorts out the duties in my office dishes out the dutys to his little favourites. Its always the same old faces covering driving dutys, and the same old faces on the crap walks. also people who have been in the job 5 minuites seem to be looked after. not to mention he looks after the part timers with easier dutys (although the managers rekkon all walks are equal :left: ) because they get back earlier and then they are forced to do more work (that they happily do)
i just feel like im being cast aside because im opinionated and speak up for myself. My rep dont seem to want to do anything. the geezer is useless and just wants to get him and his rummy pal down the pub as it opens.
just pisses me of that the lino gets away with it.

 Yip--this is the same in our office, and always has been---same blue eyed boys getting preferential treatment.
What nobody can understand is these people are usually fly by nights, who never do the job properly, shaft their workmates,
and can ALWAYS do everyone else's round far quicker than the normal duty holder, knocking an hour or two off. H.mm.

This happens in our office. I usually find out how they do it the next day on delivery when i get all the complaints, door stepping packets, filling out p739s in the office and not taking the packets out, running over gardens. Then the best one I got recently, while I was on holiday the postie covering my round rode straight over everyones garden on his bike leaving muddy tracks through them all, then to stop his bike instead of using his brake he just used the door. These people give us a bad name but get away with it coz theyre quick to get round and up the managers arse with bein able to do extra coz they finish early. :arrrghhh :no no

lets face it this kind of thing happens in so many business up and down the country. Unless you can get yourself into the position of union rep or put some pressure on youll probably have to lump it.
Also, if youre being put onto duties that you can complete during duty time with no more than fair effort on your part then its hard to see much of a grievance on your part. I know how it can be frustrating to see people having an easier time of it but RM is paying you those hours to do the job.

 MMM I think you may be missing the point. These people can only go faster because they do not do the job properly---
i hate it when they cover my walk, because you know you get nothing but complaints from your customers about misdeliveries etc. I have seen these folks getting off with things that are sackable offences--ditching full coded bundles, because they have already tied up,to bringing far more than the normal rate of so called undeliverable mail back, not doing redirections or kill offs.Etc. and of course, somewhere along the line ,Managers are made aware of these practices, but choose to do nothing-- that is not fair.

Yep agree :Applause

This happens every time i go on leave. Redirections not done, keepsafe's ignored and a whole week of kill offs. Complain and the managers do sweet fanny all :arrrghhh
