Im a big fan Roy Mayal's work
He just tells it as it is,
in a measured style with no exaggerating
just the odd bit of of wit and some clever observations.
He comes across as genuine in his commitment to his job and customers,
and his dismay at he governments and managements part in this dispute. which he accurately predicts at the time of writing will result in a strike.
I'm a postman-and i know where you live.....

He's written more stuff for the LRB since then.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?
