Phone calls from DOM on Sunday afternoon

I've just had a phone call from my DOM (on a sunday afternoon) asking if I'd be willing to do a different job tomorrow so my job can be lapsed! 2 weeks ago the same thing happened, I agreed to it as just a one off & ended up arriving on the Tuesday with my job already gone without even being asked first. I ended up having the day (infact entire week) from hell!!

I've straight out refused to do it this time saying that if one job can be lasped then any can! The worse thing about my situation is that I was put on this job in the first place because my health problems prevented me from being able to cope with being a floater, I was breaking down in floods of tears at work on a regular basis. With help from the union & ATOS I was moved from a devision that I loved to one I hate, but I was greatful to be on a regular job, but now I'm struggling to cope again, because of the worry of being moved around again, especially in an area that I can't stand. Last time this happened I really found it difficult to cope & ended up getting in a terrible state, I really thought the management had learnt their lesson with me & wouldn't even contemplate asking me to move again, but it seems I was wrong! Now my Sunday as been ruined as I feel totally upset & stressed out by the worry of this happening to me again, I really can't stand the embarrassment of being upset at work, why can't they just leave me alone to get on with the job I know, it seems a simpler solution for everyone conserned, but why can't they see that??!!

I don't understand this - in my office we only lapse duties where the normal delivery staff are on leave/day off/sick. If there is a duty spare that they want you to move to - surely that is the one that should be lapsed.

My point exactly! I just can't understand why they insist on putting me under all this pressure, when they could just lapse the 'spare' job & leave me out of it!! Last time I was put through this I was so late out that I ended up working over my time, the OT I claimed for it was never paid, adding to the stress of the situation. Talk about bully management, I'm just sick of it!!! On top of it all I even expected to take lasping from my own job!!! How stupid is that?

The issue of being moved is one thing, but a manager calling you at home on a day off is OUTRAGEOUS
I wouldn't even have got into a conversation with him, other than to say 'have you got any of those Bullying & Harrassment forms in the office? Well, when you get in first thing tomorrow morning, get one out and write my name where it says Name of Complainant. I will fill in the rest'.

Royal Mail have no justification in phoning you, me or any employee at home, except where you are off sick perhaps. He has no right to stress you out on your day off, FFS. Tell him you are documenting this phone call in your B&H case and demand there is no repeat of this scandalous behaviour !!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't even have got into a conversation with him, other than to say 'have you got any of those Bullying & Harrassment forms in the office? Well, when you get in first thing tomorrow morning, get one out and write my name where it says Name of Complainant. I will fill in the rest'.

my DOM has called me many a Sunday afternoon to ask me if i minded swapping duties for Monday morning, i consider this to be ok because it gives me prior notice instead of being told early Monday morning, i think its all about being flexible and helping out as filling out Bullying and Harrassment forms i think not.

It`s bad enough them being given(nearly)free rein to ring you up when your sick.

Oh come on you must see its wrong

All his done is messed up her Sunday by winding her up about something which should be sorted monday morning in work time. Its a dumb thing to do.

get this: I was phoned up half hour before my official start time by my manager. She wanted to know where I was!!!

Mine once phoned first thing in the morning to ask where i was and awoke the whole house in the process. It was my rest day

I was phoned because they thought i was off sick,missus went mental,phoned me on my mobile"where the **** are you".
Told her i'm at work then another postman comes round to prep my frame,I must have been quiet that day.
