i keep hearing from customers,the media and from certain posters on here that next year when we are privatised next year everything is going to be great as regards deliveries etc.
these people are in for a shock if they think tnt are going to deliver to every address in britain,rural areas will be lucky if they get a delivery 3 times a week,the mail will come at all hours of the day and night.
a lot of the public are under the impression that its the cwu's fault that the mail is being delivered later but we all know its management who are using so called modernisation to start us later and so finish later.
the management in the last 5or 6 years have presided over the demise of the best postal service in the world with their cuts in deliveries and staff and doing away with so many post offices which has been a disaster for so many pensioners.
what the future will hold for mail deliveries in this country i shudder.

I'm going to have a big laugh at the public if they believe that the post will be better privatised. Everything will be more expensive and the postal service will be laughable.

I still dont think the public realy know why we are striking, I,m still being asked on a daily basis what its all about. Even when you do try and give them an explanation all they say is, Aye its the same everywhere I've given up explaining

for the same stamp price as one that goes just a few miles.

Maybe Easyjet and T.N.T (both orange) could team up and they could just drop you mail from 30,000 feet.

I tell everyone on my walk that if we lose this dispute, either there will be no daily delivery within the next 5-10 years or they'll be paying £1 for a 1st class letter. No private company can take on the USO without massively raising prices.

you only need look at the thing's already privatised. most of them are now foreign owned. if and when we're privatised we'll all be out of work within 5 years.

When we are privatised the whole service will be screwed - if the Lib Dems get in then maybe they'd be the lesser of all evils IF they do exactly what they said they'd do ( since when have politicians with power ever done that? ) The best hope is that we get a hung parliment, and whoever is the minority partner has some honest socialist pricniples.

The conservatives are using the Royal mail as a vote winner. If only people had some guts in this country and voted en masse for some of the minor parties or independents. We live in a two party rotational state who never serve more than 3 terms. How gutless must the public of a nation be to be as predictable as that?
I think how great it would be if all the politicians that were voted in, were independents. No more party lines. Parliamentary democracy would be totally different to today's farce.
