and 16% out of the 25% were pickets the rest managers and strike breakers of course they are reffering to the mail centres who are on different days a bit of spin

I did see a fellow worker today with a RM white hired van. Surprised if he was working but maybe he was. Lets hope it was just the sticker not taken off yet.

Don't forget, when they give these figures such as "25% working normally", they include those on annual leave, sick and rest day as "working normally" because they are being paid. We even have a "resources manager" who manipulates the rest days of people who are "spare" so that it shows up well in their figures.

Unfortunaly 80% of our office turned up today.one working his day off,and one comming from the em airport depot to collect his thirty pieces of silver. Had some great company on our small picket line

This is spin to rival the early days of the Labour government, these figures that have been massaged more than a client at a massage parlour.

While it is obvious some people will break the strike, a lot of offices appear to be cooking the books (must be the same people who work on the Quality of Service figures!! )

Lets work this out:

we work 6 days out of 7 so 16% of the staff on average will have a rostered day off (only 9% to go)
for averages sake lets say 5 weeks holiday per postie although it is likely to be higher 5/52 = 9.16% (if we include the xmas block its actually 10.41%

lets say 1 or 2% of workers are on long term or short term sick .

Grand total of those working normally with a statistical correction of around 1 -2% either way to cover those who can be counted in 2 or more categories: = 27.16% to 25%

Ooo look it matches RM figures so as a general perception across the whole country I would say that's a low figure.

In my area the main office (with picket) was 100 per cent on strike but the other small offices in the area (no picket) all worked, this means than on average in my area 50 per cent worked and 50 per cent were on strike.

dont know the % thanks to lager and red wine but in my d.o which is 3 post codes and about 85 walks only 2 s**bs came in , but guessing lower than 25% , also would like to thank the unison and swp comrades for their support

According to a union safety rep i know, 375 delivery staff out of 500 in our postcode areas, not including the mail centre which is the main office and houses a delivery section, were working

IF THE 25% IS ANYTHING LIKE ROYAL MAILS FIGURES FOR THE "DECLINING MAIL VOLUMES" THEN THE FIGURES MUST BE TRUE SURELY????

43,000 MC staff were supposed to be out Thurs-Fri but my office still got tons of mail (and our feeder MC was 95% out)
