Mail Tomorrow

Just wondered if anyone knew what sort of volume of mail to expect in the morning.Last friday no mail turned up just specials(although i was'nt there).I presume as there expecting a full staffing some may turn up.Also im going on the piss tomorrow night,makes a change on a friday night.

Well two different DIMS have said it'll be either 40% or 60% down. So it'll be at least 20% up on a normal Friday I bet!

last thursday our office expected to have hardly any mail to del because we thought the so's were out at midnight however they didn't go out till 4.00 am
hence we were scr**ed with walksorted. don't know where th feck it came from .
SO, beware it might not be as quiet as you hope IT NEVER IS!!!!

If you have any backlog in your office then that should be it. Although, of course the baglog doesn't exist. Anyway most of it we've had is missorts and so just gets another go on the merry-go-round

Ah well whatever comes it will be a fair days work for a fair days pay.........maybe.

ours said about 50% down and hit us with a "come in half hour late" flexible agreement, and come in half hour early on monday.
was pointed out that the agreement needed 24 hours notice but fell on deaf ears

You'll get hammered in the DOs with the backlog on Monday and you'll probably be a lot more busy then usual on the IPS letters as with the MDECs out tomorrow, all the mech mail that would have been run through again after having been coded by the MDECs will get sent to the DOs as manual letters (if you see two bar codes in orange ink, it has been coded by a MDEC).

manager said only dsa coming in so we have to split un-covered duty to make up time .told him dsa is 90% of the delievery and that as i went over today because of an unexpected tanking of mailsort he could stick any part of the uncovered duty up any of his orifices.They just don`t `get it do they mails down 10% my a**e.

Think we'll get bugger all. The drivers who deliver it to our office will be still out on strike so noone to deliver, what usually happens is manager tries to bring a bit out to us in a small van. Not usually enough to start a fire. Expecting an easy day, the weekend starts early
