Striking Saturday so in work tomorrow.

I predict I'll be pulled up by customers around eighty times tomorrow

Thinking off having a big card made up saying Dont ask,The strikes Saturday,on my bike,In bright flashing neons.No seriously,It does give me a chance to talk to people and put them straight that its not all about wanting a £100 per week pay rise,as I have been asked/told that the strike is about.

I probably got ask about 20 times today. it clear that the public haven't got a clue what going on, and the media are just confusing them, when they say royal mail on strike for 3 days, they assume that mean everyone

Had a few " i thought you were on strike" comments, and had a firm on delivery giving me the 20 questions. They said they had a lot of sympathy for our predicament and also said they thought , the public were behind us. They blamed the dispute soundly on the government. :mfo

I got called a blackleg this morning,they were ok when i explained things.Please folks read the papers and watch the news.Also i have a theory instead of people trying to start a conversation about the weather they now have the strike instead,it make a nice change for them to say"I THOUGHT YOU WERE ON STRIKE" instead of "HMMM RAIN AGAIN".

had one old bloke basically saying scab so i let him rant on then i asked him what he actually new about it all he could say was i watch the news, told him maybe you watch it but you obviosly dont bloody listen ! needless to say no reply , not even one of my customers ,the old s**t

Yep also good old fashioned 'no bills today' has temporarily been replaced.

Had a very, very rich woman (who I deliver to) asking me why I wasn't on strike. Did the normal "Thursday is for this, Friday this etc" but she just went into one about "everybody must suffer job losses nowadays" - as if she's ever suffered a days work in her life. She then launched into a tirade about trade unions. After about 6 mins of boredom - no point in talking to her anyway, told her I had to get on as I had a delivery to do. She then accused me of being rude as she was trying to understand why we were striking and wanted to know when the backlog would be resolved. LOL - said she was gonna report me. Stone me! If I had time to chat to every customer for 6 mins my DIM would not be impressed by the amount of work I took back. Can't win - the customers think you are their personal property but you ( and management) just wanna get the job done. Think I've lost a Christmas tip there!!
